Started by Smita Vijaykumar Contractor, reNNovate was an idea that caught on and gave validation to its space at the get go.
While online companies promise new homes in 45 days, ReNNovate takes on deep renovations that are completed in 3 months from start to finish. With Mumbai’s high rents, speed, timeliness, and cost of delivery are critical for tapping into the market of lived-in homes that need upgrading. There is a large target group that wants a quality long-lasting designer home with all bathroom, kitchen, electrical, civil work controlled under one room in a timely and budget-conforming manner.
“I come from a government background, so business and design were uncharted waters for me. Adding to my disadvantages, I moved to Mumbai and started my business there. Little did I know, however, that my parents’ transferable government job helped me adapt and appeal to a wider audience by improving my ability to add design to old houses.” says Smita.
In other words, our company sits midground between traditional architects and online architecture firms like livspace, homelane, arrivae, etc. Renovations, civil intensive projects that require a great deal of architectural technical expertise are difficult for online design companies to handle because of their scalability issues.
