A residential mixed-use project by HKS to create a new identity in the heart of Oakland’s Broadway Auto Row, named for the main thoroughfare’s history of car dealerships and automotive services dating to 1912. The project weaves the aspirations of a neighborhood, distinguishing the community with a design worthy of the place.

12. Arc Light Co. Apartments

Arc Light Co. is the transformation of an underutilized and distressed historic electric light company into residential units, with the addition of four stories of new construction to the existing historic brick expression to revitalize the site without overpowering the existing building. It came out to be the first LEED Platinum-certified building in San Francisco.

13. AT&T Stadium

A stadium strikes a balance between tradition and innovation by creatively embodying the proud history of the Dallas Cowboys while simultaneously building brand experiences and improve fan support to register future success. It allows unmatched versatility, from its iconic operable walls and ceiling to its flexible seating bowl to its outdoor plazas and the incorporation of high definition screens for the immersive fan experience.

14. Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Denver

Hotel designed by HKS to increases Four Seasons’ brand presence in downtown Denver and connect it to the city’s vibrant art and sports scene.  It was at the forefront of the remarkable transformation redefining downtown Denver when completed in 2010.

15. JW Marriott Austin

Designed by HKS to be much more than just an urban convention hotel, the JW Marriott Austin has become a gathering place, reinforcing the city’s urban edge while connecting with residents and visitors alike.

16. Suzhou Gaoxin People’s Hospital Phase II

Location: Suzhou, China

Suzhou is one of the fastest-growing major cities in the world and its more than 10.6 million residents already have high life expectancy rates. This project designed by HKS serves to strengthen the overall well-being of this thriving community about 60 miles northwest of Shanghai. Incorporation of water throughout the design by employing a biomorphic interpretation of the Chinese ‘koi’ to formulate the form and facade of the new towers.

17. Royal Arena

Royal Arena, was one of the most anticipated projects in Copenhagen, a world-class multi-purpose venue that exists as a catalyst for the growth and development of the neighborhood. With the bold timber façade which invokes curiosity, a podium which also o  ers various public spaces for social development the arena is designed to catalyze urban life.

18. University of Texas at Dallas Live Learn Community

HKS had to design a new residential hall as part of a multi-phase north campus residential community to help handle growing enrollment and further develop unity and connection between previously separate residential spaces and new amenities.

19. True Worth Place

Location: Fort Worth, Texas, USA

A community center that embodies the mission to empower the disenfranchised and restore their hope and dignity. True Worth Place represents a new approach to supporting the homeless, the environment feels more like a hotel or health club. The site features a community courtyard and outdoor dining on a roof deck with a beautiful view of Fort Worth. An industrial-grade kitchen provides 200 meals each at breakfast and lunch every day.

20. Kay Bailey Hutchison Dallas Convention Center

HKS was responsible for the last major expansion for the original Dallas Memorial Auditorium was designed by George Dahl in 1957, now renamed in honor of former US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. A 475,000 square feet expansion of convention center space over active rail and commuter lines. The expansion unifies multiple previous add-ons and creates a new dramatic arrival/entry and pre-function space fronting a historic park.

21. Lucas Oil Stadium
