In the design field, to come up with appropriate, comfortable, and aesthetic design ideas, a person needs to be observant and a quick thinker. Design thinking in Interior Design offers an overview of the design process which takes place before the design execution. It is an interactive course filled with fun exercises to start a conversation about design.

The course aims to draw focus towards initializing and developing ideas by decoding your observations and turning them into great design concepts.

The course talks about 4 aspects of Design Thinking: Observation, Imagination, Function, and user group. The course is divided into 4 sessions, each of which talks about one aspect of design thinking. The sessions include hands-on interactive exercises. After every session, a small exercise is given to the participants which are discussed at the beginning of the next session.

  • A short study of vernacular architecture to understand the implications of site analysis. 
  • Decoding the ideas behind design using examples from industrial and architectural design. (exercise-based)

  • Using simple shapes and forms to create products/ spaces. 
  • The relation between function and space/product.  
  • Understanding volume and scale.
