The coffee bar named s’Frie is located in the building of the Adler Apartments, directly on the main street in Schoppernau in the Bregenzerwald. “s’frie hea” is local dialect and means “to have it pleasant”.

The interior design is based on the given specifications, as the main structure of the building was already completed. The coffee bar is a breakfast bar for the in-house apartment guests, guests from holiday apartments in the village and for locals. During the day it is a coffee bar with small dishes and you can immerse yourself in the world of aperitifs and cocktails until the evening. Events are possible in the evening. This versatility makes high functional demands. The fully-fledged gastronomy kitchen allows the pastry chef to live out her creativity. A black serving counter was placed in the guest room,
where the guest chooses drinks and food.

In terms of design, the high output at the self-service counter had to be reconciled with a pleasant atmosphere at the tables without local colour. Black stone and woods dipped in black linger in the background. The whitewashed wooden acoustic ceiling and cloudy lime plaster walls with subtle curtains create atmosphere. The refreshed bentwood chairs from the Hotel Adler were also used again. Great attention was paid to acoustics and lighting. The result is an atmospheric coffee bar, in order to have it “frie” as the name suggests.
