With 18 years of experience in the architecture, design/build, and construction industry, James DeSarno brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to D3 Architects. Having worked closely with renowned firms such as Donnally Architects and Vandeventer + Callander Architects, James’s approach is rooted in the belief that good design lies at the intersection of beauty and economy. A Washington, D.C. native and a graduate of George Washington University’s International Affairs program, James infuses his projects with a unique blend of strategic vision and aesthetic sensibility.
Sam Kraft – Principal
Sam Kraft’s journey into architecture took a unique path, starting as an elementary school teacher in New York City. Driven by a passion for architecture, he transitioned back to academia to pursue his architectural aspirations. Sam believes that successful architectural projects, akin to a well-run classroom, result from clear communication, sharp organization, and a genuine passion for beauty and ideas. A history graduate from Bard College, Sam holds a Master of Teaching from Pace University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. He actively contributes to architectural education by teaching a large introductory course at the UW Department of Architecture and volunteering in his community.
