Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

www.re-thinkingthefuture.com is operated by Rethinking Internet Media Pvt Ltd, trading as Rethinking The Future (“RTF”, “we”). RTF is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and its programme subdomains, including awards.re-thinkingthefuture.com (which also carries its own privacy notice).

2. What we collect

  • Contact and form data — name, email address, organisation and message contents you provide through our forms, newsletter sign-ups and programme registrations;
  • Contributor data — author details, biographies and content you submit for publication;
  • Payment status — confirmation of payments for paid programmes from our payment processors (such as PayPal or card gateways). We never see or store your card numbers or banking passwords; payments are processed by the processor under its own privacy policy;
  • Technical data — IP address, browser, device and usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and, where shown, advertising cookies;
  • Communications — emails you exchange with us and web push subscriptions if you opt in.

3. Why we use it

  • to operate the website and our programmes — publish contributions with credit, process registrations and payments, run competitions, courses and awards (performance of a contract);
  • to respond to enquiries and send service messages (contract / legitimate interest);
  • to send newsletters and programme announcements — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link (legitimate interest / consent);
  • to measure and improve the website, display advertising, and keep the site secure and spam-free (legitimate interest);
  • to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run RTF: payment processors; hosting, security, analytics, advertising, push-notification and email-delivery providers; and, for awards and competitions, jurors and reviewers under confidentiality. We do not sell personal data. Author names, firm names and project credits are published as an inherent part of our editorial and awards activity.

5. International transfers

We operate globally; your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including India, the United States and the European Union, with reasonable safeguards in place.

6. Retention

Records connected to payments and legal obligations are kept as long as the law requires. Published editorial and awards content is retained indefinitely as part of the public record of the platform. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, performance and caching, analytics, advertising, and (only if you opt in) push notifications. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect functionality.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR where it applies and India’s DPDP Act), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time — via the contact form on this website. We may need to verify your identity. Data required for legal records, and content already published editorially or as announced results, may be retained or continue to be displayed where we have lawful grounds.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — HTTPS, access controls and security tooling — to protect personal data. No internet transmission is 100% secure.

10. Children

This website is intended for professionals, academics and higher-education students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy by publishing the revised version on this page with a new date. Rethinking Internet Media Pvt Ltd (Rethinking The Future) — reach us through the contact form on this website.
