While there are several photographers and architects, we have a certain group which specializes in architectural photography, they are from varied backgrounds, some of them didn’t even study architecture, interiors or even photography and yet they rule their game. Another set of professional photographers, both of these photographers believe in working together and if not together, then guiding each other while working on different projects at the same time. Their instagram page goes by the same name and all of their pictures are nothing else but mesmerizing and would make you feel breathless. While scrolling down, you might pause and look at the marvelous sites that they have been to and captured.
3. Tekla Evelina Severin
Someone who doesn’t prefer monochrome is certainly going to fall for her photographs. She calls herself a color addict, with a ton of hats to don. She works as a photographer, art director, interior architect, set designer, colorist and trend forecaster all around the world.
I will say, she breathes colors and this girl breaks patriarchy’s circle by featuring in the best architectural photographers all around the world.
4. Fernando Guerra
A delight to watch. For someone who is not a fan of arranged instagram profiles, his profile is one where you would definitely stop by. All his shots, as he says are from either his assignments or his iphone. “ Sharing is the point”, he says. He clicks the same place from different angles and many photographers believe that that’s the best way to gain the perfect shot. The concept of color palette is used in his profile a lot. He also happens to be an active teacher in workshops and owns a studio too.
5. Edmund Sumner
A London-based architectural photographer, he has been collaborating with leading architects, publishers, editors and curators. He also travels far and wide, found shooting in India, Japan, Mexico, Middle east and USA.
He calls himself an optimist and also, a twitter refugee, where he only goes from time to time. His pictures capture the daily life and its extraordinariness in the small moments. Natural light and sunlight are the key players when it comes to his photography.
6. Cristobal Palma
A student of architecture who moved to photography and ended up shooting architectural films for which he has been awarded several accolades. His instagram account is by the name Estudio Palma, and by one look at his account, one can conclude that he surely has an eye for architecture. He has captured buildings in shapes and structures that it’s kind of hard to put in the form of words. His work surely is beyond beautiful.
7. Rory Gardiner
Photographer based in London and Melbourne. As his profile suggests, he prefers to keep it subtle and light. The color white is present in each of his pictures. Most of his pictures try to capture just one detail along with two to three colors. We can also call him a Minimalist who brings out the best by just focusing on one detail.
8. Simone Bossi
An architect turned photographer, he works on personal projects in addition to his commissions, on both film and digital format. What we can make out of his profile is that he loves capturing spaces without human elements present in it. His style is simple, subtle and yet so endearing. There is a beauty in spaces without living things and that’s what he tries to capture, we believe.
