Sustainability and green buildings meeting our present needs without compromising on any needs.

It has various components and needs but opting for a sustainable life which will also help with environmental conservation and also keeping the healthy state of well-being in mind. The global coronavirus pandemic, which has already caused unimaginable hardships that have brought all our lives to a complete halt. In the last few months of this pandemic, we have realized the importance of some of the confined spaces. Where occupants realized the importance of the health of these spaces. Adding to this, the specter of global warming that haunts us.

In the present situation, it is very important to have a healthy house that provides a natural defense against respiratory illness and airborne vectors. A good amount of ventilation and filtration will reduce exposure to viruses. The pandemic has exposed various issues that address the society about poverty, hunger, good health, and well-being. It is very important to move into a sustainable pathway so that further we don’t have to face such a big pandemic outbreak. It seems difficult to live without air and the pandemic outbreak has made it so difficult to step out and breathe in nature and instead we tend to wear a mask every time we step out of the house.

Switching to sustainable buildings the environment quality will be a lot better as it provides a healthy community and makes sure the air is clean always and we are preserving the natural resources and a nontoxic environment. Sustainability is mainly on how we can use the resources available efficiently to benefit the space or the community.

Sustainability post-pandemic is important as it mainly focuses on economic development, social development, and environmental protection. Sustainability and green buildings help with poverty and hunger, better standards of education and health center, particularly on sanitation and water quality. It also helps with the tackling effects of climatic change, pollution, and other environmental factors that can harm and do harm people’s health and livelihoods. Sustainability includes the health of the land, air, and the sea. It’s still not clear if people will opt for sustainable living and it seems hard to imagine the future of sustainability emerging from the technologies. We need to keep things in mind like both the natural and human-caused disasters when we switch to a sustainable living. These things play a very important role.

Sustainably built green buildings are eco-friendly and resource-efficient, as these consume less energy and natural resources. This hereafter generates lesser wastes and greenhouse gases. The term green calls for a viable design that ensures efficient use of energy, water, and other materials. This approach also aids in reducing the impact on human health and the environment, for the entire lifecycle of a sustainably constructed building. Sustainable living elicits a positive social impact on people’s lives as well. Green and sustainable building help with various economic benefits which include cost savings, lower construction, high occupancy rates, and higher property value.

They are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s lifecycle. This mainly focuses on how to complement the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort. There are different technologies constantly developing which is helping in making the building greener. The overall impact of having a green building is mainly to reduce the impact of the overall built environment on human health and natural environment by natural means like using the energy, water, and resources efficiently, reducing waste, pollution, and environmental degradation. Similarly, we can also look into natural buildings, which usually focuses on the use of natural materials that are available locally. Globally, buildings are responsible for energy, electricity, water, and materials consumptions.

Green buildings practices aim to reduce the environmental impact of the building. This approach integrates the building life-cycle with each green practice employed which has a design purpose to create synergy among the practices used. These technologies related to the green buildings may constantly evolve and may differ from region to region, place to place as the fundamental principles persist from different methods that have been derived from various means. The buildings also have an aesthetic side which helps in keeping them in harmony with the natural features and resources surrounding the site. There are several keys in designing a sustainable building that is specific to green building materials available from the local sources, reduces loads, optimizes the system, and generates on-site renewable energy. The concept of this is designed in different stages, which in other terms, is called the project life cycle that plays an impact on cost and performance. A variation of design may affect the environment during the project life cycle. Thus, sustainability and green buildings are very important in the post-pandemic world.
