1. The Orange Cube

The irregular perforations on the orange facade have a pixilated pattern which also resembles split water droplets. The skin thus introduces natural sunlight inside and maintains interaction between the indoor and the outdoor and gives it a distinct aesthetic.
2. O-14
Location – Dubai
Project Year – 2010
Architect – O-14 by Reiser + Umemoto
The building has double envelope – an inner curtain wall and a 40cm wide porous concrete exterior. The gap between the building and the envelope is one meter wide. By having the glass on the inside and the concrete on the outside, the gap acts as a chimney which dissipates the heat of the entire building.
3. Frog queen
Location – Graz, Austria

Giving an abstract feeling the facade of this cube building is treated with a number of colored aluminum panels which gives a sense of a pixilated design. The structure gives an impression of shifting perception of volume and texture. As we approach the building the finer grain of surface articulation becomes evident that each panel is comprised not of a single grey color tone but rather a tight grid of abstract pictorial figures.
4. Waseda Building
Location – Tokyo, Japan
Project Year – 2015
The facade of the building uses different metals for the upper and lower parts of the structure. The shutters are orderly arranged on the lower part which is a hollowed like silhouette resembling a mighty tree as a symbol of life. The upper part of the building gives a sudden surreal look having louvers of stainless steel which reminds us of a paddy field.
5. The Yardmaster’s Building
Location – Melbourne, Australia
Project Year – 2009
Architect – McBride Charles Ryan
The structure is in a “jewel box” cuboidal shape having a prefabricated concrete facade. This robust building has a simple polished tiling pattern. The structure is installed with a fixed window system and the experience inside the building changes as rapidly as the weather changes.
6. Akasaka Phoenix
Location – Tokyo, Japan
Project Year – 2008
Architect – Atsushi Kitagawara Architects
The structure has a striking feature having eight different patterns which are adjusted in different angles so as to achieve sunlight control of the indoors. The dark shadows on the facade are created according to direction and angle depicting a different skin. Royal blue and white color gives the structure a majestic feel.
7. Saxo Bank
Location – Copenhagen, Denmark
Project Year – 2008
Architect – 3XN
A modern seashore building, the facade is a combination of curves and taper angles. The green glass and aluminum facade reflects the intersection of the sea and blue sky. The facade has a primarily “X” pattern. It has a transparent skin having wooden structural gables on the two ends are connected by the inside glass facade, forming a curved glass. The interior is open and transparent.
8. Synergasias CO-OP Bank
Location – Kiti, Larnaca, Cyprus
Project Year – 2009
Architect – Amsa
On the ground floor level the large glass openings are shaded by concrete and wooden shades which allow the natural light to enter the interior spaces maintaining the visual contact between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The internal layout of the building and the horizontal and vertical circulation are projected on the elevations, emphasizing the separate levels and internal helical path. The facades are built of fare facing concrete surfaces, curtain walls and U-shaped glass in a double glazing arrangement.
9. Zhixin Hybrid Office Building
Location – Chendu

Architect – P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S
The seemingly whimsical epidermis of concrete and steel is in the form of a hyperbolic parabola. The grid of triangles make a striking feature of the building exterior.
10. Nestle Application Group
Location – Queretaro, Mexico
Project Year – 2007
Architect – Rojkind Arquitectos
The quadrate facade is designed as a conservative image of simple, opaque texture with metallic finish. Metal on the facade give a slight contrast between the mild reflective satin color and the bright satin. The contrast between abstract tilt box plane and the circular areas is an interesting feature.
