Essajees Ateliers is an interior design firm located in Mumbai. The Principal Designer of this established firm is Sarah Sham. She is a part of the fourth-generation 110-year-old Essajees family (Ateliers, 2023).
Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and she also did a major in art history at Oxford University. She also has a 2-year degree in interior design from Rachna Sansad, Mumbai. She has work experience of 15 years which includes projects like Ambani Home, Taj Downtown in Dubai, Gautam Singhania house, etc.
The company Essajees Ateliers was established in 2014 and has completed over 60 Interior Design projects across the country with over 200000 square feet of commercial and residential spaces currently under construction (Ateliers, 2023). The firm has a team of 30 members which are a mix of Architects and Interior Designers with Diverse backgrounds from all over the country. The team members have all completed their masters from prestigious universities as well as have their own working experiences before joining Essajees Ateliers.

- A Timeless Legacy, Mumbai
A newly bought 3200 sq. ft. corporate space in the heart of Worli, is set to be the new offices of Waterfield Advisory, one of India’s leading wealth management firms (Ateliers, 2023). This project was done in the year 2023 with the requirement of creating an elevated, sophisticated, and non-corporate-looking office workspace.
The created space was made to look quietly opulent and have a live-in look to create a perception of being an age-old establishment and not a shiny office. The main focus during decoration was focused on culture via the installation of art pieces and artefacts throughout the office. - Tailored to Perfection, Mumbai
A 70+ year old shirt brand, the space was Charagh Din’s massive 8000 sq. ft. store in Colaba, and also the largest shirt store in the world (Ateliers, 2023). The space had the same design for the past 20 years. The existing space had a lot of lights, veneers, patterns and arch panelling, which made interiors taking the limelight instead of the clothes.
Thus, the Essajees Ateliers team took a complete 180-degree turn and made the space minimal and clean to give limelight to the clothes instead of interiors. The Promoter of Charagh Din stores, Yohan Daswani said, “Essajees was the ultimate pleasure to work with. The innovation, creativity, and design were excellent and the attention to detail put their work over the top. The team took the time to understand the requirements, laid out realistic budgets, and made sure to follow up with contractors to ensure that delivery was timely. - Chef’s Kiss
A newly bought 6200 sq ft. home in the city of Kolkata, owned by MasterChef, Sneha Singhi (Ateliers, 2023). The house was designed for the client, her husband to be and her two dogs with a timeline to 6 months during pandemic.
The house has easy to maintain furniture, as both owners are working, also stylish and elegant. The furniture of this house is bought from overseas and client-approved. Also, the decoration of the house which includes art collections is all collected by the owners themselves. The house renovation was done to make it dog-friendly.
The house has anti-skid flooring and canine-friendly fabrics to make it dog-friendly. A part of the testimony from the client Sneha Singhi is, “I had the pleasure of working with Essajees, and I cannot express how impressed and grateful I was.
