Their principal architect and builder, Marcos Santa Ana, enjoys working with creative homeowners and strives to bring their dream homes to life. They are able to fulfil their client’s brief beyond their expectations, gathering praises for their professional advice and work. Alloi not only offers functional design, but also new spatial models that maximize the spaces efficiently and effectively to complement each household’s lifestyle or enhance a company’s image. Alloi also uses digital models such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) to give their clients a visualization of what is to expect before they start the construction process. They viewed each design project as a challenge to use ecologically friendly materials and solar analysis, reducing the negative impact on the environment.
1. Canyon House
Location: United States, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2011
The Canyon house is located at a quiet beachside canyon. This humble home was extensively remodelled to utilize the light and air qualities, providing a unique architectural experience for both visitors and household members. The most outstanding feature of this house is the large sliding walls that can be hidden in the wall pockets. This opening allows the cool oceanic air to enter the house, naturally ventilating the warm interior space efficiently.







2. Church of Light
Location: United States, Monterey Park, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2016
This project was located on a three-parcel lot in Monterey Park, CA. The team was tasked to design and build a new modern church from the ground up which occupies a total space of 24,000 square foot.




3. Dihedral House
Location: United States, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2018
Described as being minimal and understated by its architects, the Dihedral House uses a simple composition of elements to showcase its subtle sophistication.



4. Dual House
Location: United States, Culver City, Los Angeles, California
In collaboration with a local-based Icelandic design team MinArc, the team built two minimalistic homes covering a total space of more than 4,200 square foot on a Culver City R-2 lot. They managed to convey visual simplicity via the mixed-use of highly detailed materials.





5. Geometry House
Location: United States, Los Angeles, California
The team transformed a 1940s mid-century tract home into a minimalistic modern house that is truncated in form. The white stucco surface was smoothed by steel trowels which allow the property to stand out visually.



6. Loft House
Location: United States, Los Angeles, California
The new Loft house with mid-century modernism design feature was transformed from a 1940s mid century tract home. This one-story trapezoidal home with bonderized metal edge concealed four levels within it. Its passive house design features reduce cooling and heating cost.




7. Modern Bungalow
Location: United States, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2015
Alloi Architecture + Construction reconstructed a 1928 bungalow into a minimalistic modern home. The team worked closely with the client and used 3D models to bring her on a virtual journey where she could see from the living room to the hallway. Additionally, they are able to increase the size of the building by 800 square foot, resulting in creating a new 1,400 square foot home.




8. Ocean Farmhouse
Location: United States, Mar Vista, Los Angeles, California
The minimal modern design of the Ocean farmhouse was constructed with two attached car garages from the ground up. Rain screen concealed the drainage system and the home also has a modern board-and-batten finish to it.



9. Oxford Shoes
Location: United States, Oakland, Alameda, California
Year: 2014
Oxford Street is a 6,000 square foot urban shoe store in which the team’s interior design used raw clear-coated plywood custom furniture, white walls, and concrete floorings.





10. Perry Creative
Location: United States, Culver City, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2016
The client for this project was an international video game and film production company. Therefore, the team had to design and remodel a 3,000 square foot warehouse into a creative office. They used raw natural materials for floorings and ceilings to showcase the essence of craft in various spaces.

The design of the Volume House takes advantage of the beautiful hillside views in the busy El Sereno district.




12. Wilshire Medical

The project on Wilshire Medical building is a 60,000 square foot medical office with a completely new exterior façade and interior arrangement.




13. Xenolith House
Location: United States, El Segundo, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2018
The Xenolith house has Australian modern influences taken into its design considerations. The geographical term “Xenolith” refers to a rock piece that is embedded into a different igneous mass during formation. This natural feature has inspired the folded plane found around the home’s core which creates an open outdoor space.



14. Yin Yang House
Location: United States, Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2018
The Yin Yang House and its accessory dwelling unit (ADU) was inspired by the blend of Feng Shui constraints and vernacular topology requirements. The home is arranged by having the main house’s façade gravitate towards the streets, while the ADU’s façade subtly repels away in the opposite direction.


15. Zen Home
Location: United States, Playa Vista, Los Angeles, California
Year: 2015
Located in Playa Vista California, the Zen Modern Home design has both European and Asian twists to it. The form of the house consists of three different volumes being strategically placed together to create a clean space and a complete composition. The Zen House adopts passive ventilation and double-thick walls to mitigate the effects of heat gain in an eco-friendly way.
