With an esteemed jury composed of 25 highly renowned architects and designers, the 14th Edition of RTF Awards have come to a close with distinguished winners across various categories. The winning entries are a selection of cutting edge, avant garde and unconventional projects addressing the needs of the built environment in their own unique ways.

The objective of RTF awards is to raise awareness around the strategies Architects and Designers are employing to deal with the contemporary global challenges and to bring the best of such projects into the light to inspire the next generation. In a world grappling with issues like climate change, pollution, housing crisis and more, these projects provide a forum for exchange of ideas from designers across the globe.

“Innovation is a must during these times of climate change, pandemic, and ever evolving technology and lifestyle. RTF Awards aim to bring these innovations through winning projects to the forefront so that the whole world can follow and build towards a better future,” says Vikas Pawar, the founder of Rethinking The Future.

RTF Awards in their fourteenth year have seen tremendous evolution in terms of the submissions with focus shifting from aesthetics to sustainability.

“I am so amazed at the efforts of architects to create environments that have a variety of functions, materials and colors. Each design shows the skill and professionalism that reflect the developments of the 21st century. It seems that sustainability is one of the leading themes of today, as the emotional response of users is also at the forefront of the designs.” – Pinar Dinç Kalaycı (Jury Member)

Maud Caubet Architects | Cultural (Built)

Les Sheds by Maud Caubet Architects

Les Sheds

“The roof has been redone, respecting the characteristic shape of the sheds which gives its name to the project. The standing seam zinc finish affirms the industrial character of the building, and skylights are integrated into it, bringing in natural light. The garage rehabilitated as a lodge is not part of this set of sheds. Therefore, it is treated differently: also redone in zinc, its roof extends to the ground, like a ribbon, to cover the facades, creating a contrast with the historical brick on one side and black brick on the other.”

AN.ONYMOUS |Furniture Design (Built)

ZERO.GRAVITY by AN.ONYMOUS

ZERO.GRAVITY

ZERO.GRAVITY has no fixed orientation or position; there is no front or back, up or down. It is a restless, ever-moving object that only finds stability and balance when occupied. The human body is its center of gravity–a prosthetic void only whole and complete with the body inside. But to inhabit the piece, one also has to tame it: a dynamic dance of the two in search for composure. Motion here is the prerequisite for repose and rest. The labor of this intimate interplay is the power that animates the machine.
