INTRODUCTION: India takes to its streets all that it has to offer- People, cattle, cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and carts of all sorts, its markets and not the least, some of its homes. Also making planning and designing of these streets and neighbourhoods a massive task requiring a sensitive and equitable design approach.
Streets determine neighbourhoods and the quality of life that they offer.

STRATEGY: Project aims to provide this new direction to the neighbourhood through integrated design solutions.
The project promotes the upgradation of precinct with the help of equitable spaces for all.
Including the local ecology, social fabric, economy, daily activities and improved lifestyle.
Thereby giving everyone, be it an elderly on a morning walk, a playful child on the street or a local vendor, a space that is rightfully theirs. This transforms the entire neighbourhood into a more habitable urban space where streets have a vibrant life that ensures equality, affordability, safety for all.
DRAWING THE LINES: This is the first step in our design projects that visualizes the redistribution of a street by drawing lines on a photo picture of the existing street. This helps understand the desire lines that people and vehicles aspire for from a street.
ITI Road, Aundh, Pune: The Aundh-ITI road is a mix of residential, institutional and commercial areas. To upgrade the street in the right direction the firm assisted PMC. Along with the resident associations of the area, numerous meetings were held with the local Corporator and the PMC engineers to discuss the need for an urban public space.
After discussions with local residents, a wide comfortable footpath was created that could accommodate all urban activities including recreational walking and vending by hawkers. Parallel parking and design details were developed to stop vehicles from invading the newly built pedestrianized urban space.
Thus- Reclaiming the streets for pedestrians from vehicles.
Streets for people ( a workshop for the people, by the people )
